Maria Beth graduated from West Liberty University with a BS in Physical Education and Health, and subsequently earned her Physical Therapy Assistant degree from CCAC. She has been a collegiate basketball player, a competitive body builder, and has twenty-six years of experience as a Personal Trainer, some of which was spent training Division I collegiate basketball and tennis athletes.
Maria Beth has co-owned Silverio Hoffman Fitness, along with her business partner Janet Hoffman, since 2000. Her personal training philosophy encompasses a combination of cardio, core, strength and balance work, all with a careful eye towards safety. She crafts workouts to cater to each individual client’s own goals, ranging from sports-specific training to general toning and fitness. She prefers to train with high-intensity, but can tone it down when appropriate. In her free time, Maria Beth, an avid runner, likes to compete in Warrior races and marathons. Her personal motto is, “Your abs are made in the kitchen as well as in the gym!”
Janet has co-owned Silverio Hoffman Fitness, an exclusive East End boutique gym and personal training facility, with her business partner Maria Beth Silverio since 2004. A former standout in Division 1 basketball at West Virginia University, Janet holds a BS in Sports Management and a MS in Exercise Physiology from WVU, along with a MS in Physical Therapy from Chatham University, Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to founding the gym, Janet worked for 14 years as an Exercise Physiologist and Physical Therapist with the Forbes Health System and the UPMC Rehabilitation Hospital.
Janet utilizes her qualifications and experience when working with her personal training clients, merging a deep understanding of the body with a functional individualized regime to establish symmetry and pain free movement. Janet encourages her clients to focus on smaller muscle groups to establish strong torso stability, and to resolve postural issues and musculoskeletal imbalances. Whether you are reacquainting with exercise after a few years lapse, or feel that you have reached a plateau, or if you are recovering from an injury or surgery, Janet crafts a customized solution to help you reach your goal. In her free time, Janet enjoys golf, hiking, yoga and outdoor cycling.
Kevin Hutchinson has a B.S. in Sports Management & Exercise Physiology. He is a Certified Personal Trainer and is certified in CPR/AED. Kevin has Professional Liability Insurance for your protection. Ivan White has enjoyed more than 25 years working in the Health and Fitness industry. Providing both personal fitness training and group exercise classes, Ivan has the unique opportunity to utilize his exercise and sport science education, post rehab skills, and sports conditioning experience in a one-on-one or semi-personal/group setting. His goal is to challenge his clients to become more than just the “sum of their parts”.
Patricia Cena Fuchel is certified by the American Counsel on Exercise [ACE], National Sports and Performance Association [NSPA], Mattwork Pilates; Physical Mind Institute, Mattwork Pilates and the PIA-Pilates Institute of America. Patricia also has 120 hours of Yoga-Fit and a BFA from Point Park University. She has worked in the fitness industry for twenty plus years and has a “Mind over body” philosophy of fitness.
Patricia is an actress and former dancer, and has a more artistic approach to the beauty and balance of the body. She has always been intrigued by the kinesthetic or tactile learning of the movements of the body. “As much as I have given instruction to my clients, I have been enriched by them with a renewed perspective of the human body and how it works.”
Patricia believes that functionability is the key. Her goal is to guide her clients to move within a challenging range of motion without injury. “Young or old, we all have the desire to stay fit, healthy and look great while we age. We should all learn to embrace the journey.
Neenie Costello, BS, ACE , CES, is a personal trainer. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Edinboro University. She is accredited by the American Council on Exercise as a Certified Personal Trainer and Clinical Exercise Specialist. As a former teacher, coach, and business owner of MsFit, a women’s fitness center, Neenie has a wide array of skills and experiences. Her current role is working as a personal trainer with people of all ages as well as, working in a physical therapy environment with post-rehab patients.
Matt Proskin is a distinguished fitness expert and personal trainer. Matt comes from a background of athletics, strength and conditioning. Matt also has a vast education in nutrition and provides a detailed plan to help you continuously move toward your goals through nutrition in addition to an innovative fitness program. His clients have achieved unimaginable weight loss, unparallel strength gains, improved their fitness and conditioning to incredible levels, and recovered from injuries they were told they never would recover from.
Matt has been featured in several newspapers for his accomplishments and his work in youth and teen training. Matt still competes in Olympic lifting and power lifting has won and placed in numerous events as well as enjoys playing in several Adult Sports Leagues in the Pittsburgh area. Matt also enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children and coaching many of their sports. Ashley Hampton has eleven years experience in personal training. She has a B.S. in Exercise Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2007). Her goal is to motivate her clients to be able to perform to the best of their ability. She individualizes each and every clients workout to meet his and her goals/needs. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and helping them feel strong and healthy no matter how old or young they are. In Ashley’s free time she enjoys running, lifting weights and walking her dogs.
Jennifer Damico is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer with 8 years of personal training experience. Her past and present clients include a diverse group of individuals with a variety of health and fitness goals including physical rehabilitation, weight loss, athletic improvement, and overall fitness. Jen’s training philosophy of differentiating workouts to fit her clients’ needs originates from her classroom teaching experience and studies in the field of education. She has earned a B.S. in English Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a M.A. in Literary and Cultural Studies from Carnegie Mellon University and is currently a doctoral candidate in IUP’s Curriculum and Instruction Program. When Jen is not training, she enjoys spending time with her yellow lab, Brie.
Russ is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Hardstyle Kettlebell Certified (HKC) instructor, and Functional Movement Screen (FMS) practitioner specializing in diabetic populations, corrective/restorative exercise, and performance enhancement for female athletes. As a Type I diabetic himself, Russ has been able to substantially reduce his dependency on multiple diabetes medications while completely eradicating the need for others by making a few simple lifestyle and nutritional changes.
Combining his training through the FMS as well as over a decade of experiences working with orthopedic injuries of various types, he has had repeated success restoring function and removing pain before or after surgery by making improvements in joint mobility and stability. Russ also served as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Duquesne University for all 22 NCAA Division I varsity sports, working most closely with the Women’s Track & Field, Basketball, and Lacrosse teams.
Beth Shaw is an Ace Certified Personal Trainer who has been training and teaching group classes for over ten years. She loves the opportunity to prove that every person has the ability to not only reach whatever health and fitness goals they may have but also to truly feel comfortable in their own skin. She has worked with many populations including kids through individuals in their 90’s, people with special needs, athletes, and those who may be hesitant to start for whatever reason.
She has a BS in Business Management from the University of Pittsburgh and an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from the International Culinary Degree, Le Cordon Bleu. A career in fitness came from a personal love of exercise and healthy eating and the want to help people to find the strength and confidence they have within themselves to reach any dream they may have for their health.
In her free time she enjoys yoga, baking, and playing anything and everything with her daughter.
Amanda is a certified personal trainer and Sports Performance Training specialist through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and a certified run coach through the USA Track and Field (USATF) and the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). She specializes in strength training for endurance athletes and race preparation/training for runners of all levels. She is available for one-on-one training and group training.
Amanda has been a runner since childhood and has gained experience both personally and professionally in the running world. An advocate for a healthy, unified community, Amanda is the race director for two local races. She spends her free time running (often with a stroller!), hiking, cuddling her 4 kittens while reading a good book, drinking espresso and traveling with her husband, son and (when possible) their 2 dogs too!
Mindy McHale is an ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified personal trainer offering fitness and strength training services to clients covering a wide range of age, fitness and ability levels. She is also a kettlebell and boot camp instructor.
Mindy collaborates with each client to understand their fitness goals and to develop individualized sessions that are unique, challenging and fun. She works toward her clients becoming more consistent with their fitness routines and feeling more confident in and outside of the gym. Mindy has a particular interest in training women who are experiencing life-changing transitions, such as career redirection or divorce, or physical changes that come with aging. She believes that regular, challenging strength training routines can bring self-awareness, stability and mental endurance into what can be a tumultuous and fearful time of the unknown.
Mindy is a mother to two adult children and uses her spare time to perform and produce improv and sketch comedy at area theaters and festivals across the country.
Landen Jones is a recent transplant from glamorous New York City and the Mark Fisher Fitness magical clubhouse of glory and dreams where their motto “Ridiculous Humans, Serious Fitness” is a way of life. Landen trained with Mark Fisher Fitness for 5 years in that time earning many exciting certifications such as HKC and SFG level 1 Kettlebell certs, USAW (Olympic Weightlifting), Precision Nutrition, and FMS (Functional Movement Screen) among others.
He graduated from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction colorado with a BA in Music Theatre. Landen was also voted NYC’s Hottest Gay Trainer in 2014 and since the contest has yet to be held again, he continues to hold the title. Landen, once a dancer by trade, loves movement and picking up heavy things. He also loves classic films, historic grand hotels, and being in nature. You can bet to always receive a free disco floor show when training with Landen while also getting precision coaching.
